Apr 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) A new website called the College ACB is increasingly growing in popularity, designed much in the lines of the JuicyCampus website, which has gained immense popularity since the days of its inception. However, there are some basic differences in the two websites. For one, there are some extra features in the College ACB website which are not present in the JuicyCampus website. These features are user friendly, besides, the website also allows its users to regulate the posts that are made in the site. That way, any user can report any post that he or she may feel is offensive in any way.
Aware that comparisons are bound to arise with the predecessor, College ACB attempts to make a conscious distinction, by claiming that it is not just a website in which students can post anything about their classmates or peers, irrespective of the content. The website claims that it attempts to ‘provoke thoughtful discussion’ via online posts. Moreover, the website also boasts of a blog page. It describes itself as a place where students can talk about anything and everything, even taboo topics they would not otherwise dare to broach.
However, all that talk has not saved College ACB from hordes of criticism. Students from all over the country have protested the website, saying that there are students who have been deeply distressed about the comments posted about them in the site. Many of the students feel that they would rather not be part of the website, many going so far as to say that the stuff written on the site is what might prompt many to commit suicide, as they can be really derogatory.
