cocaineHalifax, Feb 14, (THAINDIAN NEWS) A huge amount of cocaine has been seized by the officers of the Canada Border Services. The cocaine, which amounted up to about 220 pounds, or 440 kilograms, was found in a boat bound for Halifax in Canada. According to the officials who had confiscated the package, there is enough in the package to cater to the cocaine addiction of an entire neighborhood. They have also commented that even the accumulated amount of drugs found in several sex rehabs would fall short of the amount that was in the ship. It is being estimated that the entire package would be worth at least $10 million if sold in the streets.

The authorities found the whole lot of the cocaine in packages looking like huge salamis. The drugs were stored inside duffel bags that were in turn wrapped in plastic bags. The boat that contained the packages had arrived from Chile. According to the director of the Nova Scotia District of the Canada Border Agency, Andrew LeFrank, the box was listed in the shipping manifest as containing wooden moldings meant for the purpose of household trim.

Andrew LeFrank commented that the cocaine had been discovered after the boxes were chosen at random to be tested under the X-ray, after the authorities felt that the container looked different from what it should look like. The boxes contained six bags, with 22 cylinders of cocaine between them. Each cylinder contained an estimated 5 to 10 kilos of the drug. The boat has been released by the authorities, who did not implicate it with any criminal activity and nobody has been arrested.
