Coast Guard rescues two from burning motor yacht off Los Angeles
May 22nd, 2010 - 3:08 am ICT by BNO NewsSAN PEDRO, CALIFORNIA (BNO NEWS) — The U.S. Coast Guard rescued two people from a burning motor yacht off Los Angeles on Friday, the agency said.
A 25-foot Response Boat from Coast Guard Station Los Angeles, along with two fire boats from the Los Angeles City Fire Department, were dispatched to the scene at 10.09 a.m. local time. The fire boats extinguished the fire aboard the 38-foot motor yacht, which was near Cabrillo Yacht Club.
Brian Humphrey, a spokesman for the Los Angeles City Fire Department, said two adult males aboard the vessel suffered minor injuries and were released after they were examined.
The Los Angeles City Fire Department towed the vessel to the Cabrillo Marina.
