CHANNEL ISLANDS HARBOR, CALIFORNIA (BNO NEWS) — The Coast Guard on Sunday rescued one person from a disabled sailing vessel off Goleta Beach, California, authorities said.

Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach initially received a call from the boater’s father, who stated that the vessel’s anchor line was wrapped around the prop, approximately 200 yards off Goleta Beach.

A 47-foot Motor Life Boat crew from Coast Guard Station Channel Islands Harbor was dispatched to the scene, where they transferred the stranded boater to the 47-foor Motor Life Boat and safely transported him to Santa Barbara Harbor.

The sailing vessel will stay at anchor until the boater can return to retrieve it. There were no injuries.
