Clinton meets Obama to seek common ground

- Democratic presidential nominee Barrack Obama Thursday night met privately with rival Hillary Clinton. “They did meet tonight,” Robert Gibbs the Obama campaign spokes man said. The two met at Clinton’s home in Washington in a private meeting attended by a few aides. The meeting discussed how the Democrats would resolve Clinton’s $20million debt and the possibility of Clinton getting the VP slot. Obama cancelled a Chicago flight and stayed behind for the meeting with Clinton, shedding his campaign plane and the traveling press corps.
A series of meetings has been ongoing between aides of the two protagonists and CNN had splashed news of these meetings previously. The meeting with Clinton might quash the media hype and pundit’s speculation on Obama picking Clinton as his running mate for November’s presidential election against Republican John McCain.
