Nov. 1, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Foodies were in for a great treat as the Chipotle Mexican grill offered for free its delicious spread of burritos over the Halloween weekend. To avail the offer of free burritos all one needed to do was drop in at any of the outlets on the Halloween night between 6p.m to 10p.m, but the catch was that one had to dress up like a burrito. If dressing up like a burrito seems like a task too difficult to handle, then one could also dress up like any other food items listed in the Chipotle menu card.

This news got widespread attention over the internet, as many online news portals featured the offer. The innovative venture gradually turned into a national event as more and more people walked in dressed as delectable burritos, salads or tacos to get the delicious burritos for free. The day saw a number of hungry burrito fans lined up in the outlets, creatively dressed to grab their free burrito.

According to many, this new initiative has proved to be a very smart marketing strategy undertaken by the company with the aim of enhancing the sales in the restaurant, as well as an attempt to get the brand recognized among food lovers. Chipotle Mexican Grill is a chain of restaurants offering a huge array of delicious burritos and tacos in which it specializes and is among the most popular dining establishments. The chain of restaurants were earlier owned by McDonald’s but in the year 2006, the company sold all its stakes in the restaurant.
