Beijing, Feb 9 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Chinese government has shut down a training institute, that is being said to be the world’s largest training center for computer hackers. This hacker-training centre was responsible for providing people with the malicious software, and the technical know-how to launch cyber attacks. The Hubei police also arrested 3 people who were responsible for running the online hacking site known as ‘Black Hawk Safety Net’. This organization used to recruit thousands of online members, and then they used to be provided with knowledge about how to attack websites. Even malicious software such as Trojans were also provided. And the website was making close to $1 million in revenue through this way.

The police also conducted a raid on the premises and seized computers, servers and they immediately froze all the assets. The website has also been taken down for the moment. Even though the Chinese authorities did their best to curb the hacking menace, but the critics say that it will merely have a limited effect, as other hackers will crop up, and take their place. Alan Paller - the director of research at the SANS Institute, thinks the impact of the whole exercise will be very limited. “Sadly, the tack they [China] took is just a whack-a-mole exercise.” Paller added that other hackers would simply take their place.
