May 27, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): Sandy Herold, the proprietor of the notorious Connecticut chimp (Travis), died on Monday by reason of a ruptured aortic aneurism.

Charla Nash is purportedly cheerless over her one-time friend, Sandy Herold’s death. Nash isn’t fuming at her anymore.

Last year, in February 2009, Herold’s Travis had gone a bit out of control and attacked Nash cruelly, virtually blinding her in the process, when all Nash had done was to just consent to help her friend, Herold, by bringing the chimp back home. The chimp had literally ripped off Nash’s hands, nose and eyelids by the time the police liquidated the chimp.

As a consequence of this ghastly event, the friendship between the two underwent trouble and the family of Nash, the victim, sued Herold for $ 50 million. Besides, they also desire to take the state to court for $ 150 million as the state official could not thwart the vicious attack.

Criminal charges were not launched against Herold owing to shortage of evidence.

Sandy Herold, the possessor of the 200 pounds chimpanzee, had suffered a variety of depressing events including this one in the past few years. She lost her child, her husband, her chimp (Travis) and her friend, Nash. As per her legal representative, Robert Golger, she was gravely disconsolate and couldn’t take it any longer.

Golger added that the stress generated by the multi-million dollar lawsuit launched against her also bothered Herold a lot.

In Golger’s belief, the case against Sandy Herold is likely to continue even though she is deceased now.
