New York, Nov 2 (THAINDIAN NEWS) It is often said what does not kill you make you strong but in the case of the 33 miners, it made them famous. They are now arguably the most anticipated celebrities in the world. Most event organizers are negotiating for them to be present at their various events and it seems the organizers of the New York Marathon this year are in that group of event organizers.

They invited one of the rescued miners, Edison Peña to just come and grace the event. However to their shock and dismay, Edison does not want to be just a spectator of the event but wants to be part of one of the world’s biggest marathons this year. Edison revealed to the organizers through the Chilean Consulate that he will want to take part in the marathon.

The organizers expressed their interest to have Edison grace the occasion after a story emerged that Edison jogged in the tunnels when they were trapped some 800 m below the surface of the earth.

Edison’s interest greatly pleased the organizers with the president of New York Road Runners, Mary Wittenberg saying “I cannot wait to meet this man”.
