jictsie Washington DC, Mar 5 (THAINDIAN NEWS) There are loads of rumors that the Chief Justice John Roberts is thinking of stepping down, but apparently all these rumors are just baseless and not true at all. The Chief Justice has no such intention of stepping down. He had gotten the Senate’s nod to head the top court of the nation, just 5 years ago, and he is staying put there.

Earlier a news source had claimed that the Chief Justice would be taking the drastic step to step down due to ‘personal reasons’, but now all such news stories seem like a figment of somebody’s imagination. Later when the official clarification came from the Chief Justice’s office that he is not stepping down, then the news story was quickly retracted and instead it was posted that they “had obtained new information that Justice Roberts will not resign” and “will be staying on the bench.”

“George Bush appointed Roberts at the age of 50, which gave the Right some comfort in the probability that Roberts would remain on the job for at least a couple of decades. An early retirement would mean a lost opportunity to maintain conservative consistency from the Supreme Court,” Conservative writer Ed Morrissey said.
