Chicago, Nov 17 (THAINDIAN NEWS) People of Chicago are still shocked and can’t believe that the dead body pulled from the Chicago River early Monday is believed to be of Chicago School Board President’s Michael Scott. It is being reported that apparently he shot himself in the head, thus it is clear that it is a clear case of suicide.
According to the people that he worked with, he was active till the last minute of his tight work schedule and nobody had any inkling that he would take such a drastic step to take his life. He met with the teacher’s union on Saturday and listened patiently to their woes. Last month he had even made a trip to Copenhagen in connection with the Olympics.
His business partner David Doig of 20 years who met him just a week ago, says that he is shocked at this bit of news as he hasn’t seen Michael Scott depressed or down anytime in their long association. He says that this step was totally out of character for Michael.
The reason for his apparent suicide was that he was recently involved in questionable real estate dealings near the would-be sight of the Chicago Olympics. Michael Scott was also subpoenaed to testify before a federal grand jury about the admission practices of Chicago’s elite schools, of which Scott was the President. He was serving his second term as the School Board’s President.
