Chelsea's Wedding Aug 2 (THAINDIAN NEWS) In a ceremony which most are calling “extremely lavish”, the Former President of the United States, Bill Clinton, along with his wife, Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton gave their only daughter away at a gorgeous wedding Saturday, July 31 2010, surrounded by four hundred carefully chosen guests. Some of the wedding photos can be seen here.

Chelsea married her long time boyfriend, Marc Mevinsky in New York, in the small town of Rhineback. The ceremony took place at Astor Courts which is a beautiful estate located just off the scenic Hudson River. It was an “interfaith ceremony” which the couple exchanged vows in.

‘The New York Times’ reported earlier in the week that the guests to this very secret ceremony were not even sure of the location, and were told, ‘Get yourself within New York City driving distance, and we’ll give you the details with a week to go. (It) is within driving distance of New York. It’s a lovely place. It’s secluded on 50 acres owned by some Clinton donors, Kathleen Hammer and her husband, who’s a real estate developer, and it’s easy to get to.”

The bride wore a stunning Vera Wang gown, described as “strapless ivory gown” that featured a “diagonally draped bodice, ball skirt made out of raw-edged laser-cut swirling silk organza, and a train in silk tulle, along with silver-jeweled embroidery band around her waist with a fabulous, long veil” to make her look complete.

The Clinton’s released the following statement, “Today, we watched with great pride and overwhelming emotion as Chelsea and Marc wed in a beautiful ceremony at Astor Courts, surrounded by family and their close friends. We could not have asked for a more perfect day to celebrate the beginning of their life together, and we are so happy to welcome Marc into our family. On behalf of the newlyweds, we want to give special thanks to the people of Rhinebeck for welcoming us and to everyone for their well-wishes on this special day.” See more in the video below.
