In today’s world, where love of any kind, for any given thing isn’t worth it’s salt if not flaunted, with resultant days in the year being dedicated to every conceivable aspect of human life (Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day, Friendship Day etc), there doesn’t seem to be any good reason, why the same honors should not be accorded to the ever popular, confectionery delight….the cheesecake.

Accordingly, the favored dessert now has been given its very own celebratory day, with July 30th being designated as the official ‘Cheesecake Day‘. In keeping with the theme of the day, the Cheesecake Factory gave away it’s eponymous dessert for half the regular price.

The offer, which was made available to the dine-in customers of the chain in all outlets all over, including the one at Colonie Center, included the option of choosing from an array of more than thirty delectable varieties of cheesecake in the Cheesecake Factory menu, ensuring that the customers were without a doubt, spoilt for choice.

The celebrations also saw a new entrant into the already sinfully tempting assortment of confectionery, the newly introduced ‘Stefanie’s Ultimate Red Velvet Cake Cheesecake’.

Adding a ’sweet’ note of compassion as well, was the decision of the organization to donate 50 cents from every slice of it sold over the next year, to a charity called ‘Feeding America.’ Evidently, the guilty indulgence of cheesecake connoisseurs’ calorie-fests, will now count for more than just ruined diets…it will be accompanied by the ’sweet’ knowledge of every forkful coming to the aid of someone in need.
