October 19, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): During the recent Chilean Mine rescue one of the miners grabbed the headlines for his audacity. The Chilean miner Yonni Barrios allegedly asked both his wife and mistress to greet him when he emerged from the trapped mine. The miner is surely facing a lot of flak from his wife and relatives for his alleged affair. However an online dating website has approached Yonni to become the brand ambassador for their company.

The dating website promotes infidelity among married couples by urging them to have affairs outside marriage. The slogan of the website is ‘Life is short. Have an affair’. According to latest news reports the website has offered Yonni $100,000 to become its spokesperson. If Barrios says yes to the offer, he will star in TV commercials, radio ads and make public appearances to promote infidelity.

However there is a clause to the contract that requires Yonni Barrios to remain married to his present wife. This is a tough proposition for Yonni because after his rescue his wife has refused to speak to him and his marriage is all but over. The website’s president Noel Biderman said that his website has been a huge success since its launch and Yonni can bring a lot of publicity to the website as well.

A large section of the Spanish speaking populace subscribes to the controversial website and the user list might expand exponentially with Yonni’s addition. During the controversial incident Yonni Barrios had asked both asked his wife (Salinas) and mistress (Valenzuela) to greet him after his rescue. After the rescue his mistress greeted him passionately but his wife stayed away. A recent report also suggested that Barrios has a 25-year-old girlfriend name Rosa Esther.
