Chart Thai leader affirms he did not meet with former PM before attending court

Chart Thai party leader Banharn Silapa-acha (บรรหาร ศิลปอาชา) stated before taking the witness stand in the Ratchada land purchasing case against former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra and his wife Potjaman Shinawatra, that he did not meet with the deposed PM prior to taking the stand today. He also said that he could not anticipate what the court may ask him to testify on but expected that it would be concerning the former premier’s administration. Mr. Banharn affirmed that he would testify honestly.
The court today has scheduled 4 witnesses including Mr. Banharn, Democrat Party Executive Adviser Chuan Leekphai (ชวน หลีกภัย), Mr. Veera Somkwamkit (วีระ สมความคิด) and Mrs. Kalayani Rujtolakal (กัลยาณี รุจทลกาล).
The two defendants will not be present during the days proceedings.
