charla nash new faceLos Angeles, Nov 22 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Charla Nash, the woman who had most of her face torn off by the chimpanzee pet of her friend, has shown her new face. Charla’s got a new face following a successful face transplant earlier this year.

When Charla appeared on NBC’s Today Show on Monday, she revealed that there is some sense of normalcy coming back into her life. She revealed that for the first time since the incident happened, a child saw her and said hello.

Last May doctors tried to restore Charla. The attack which happened in 2009 left her with a badly damaged face, cost her sight and hand. She lost most of the common senses of the face.

The doctors tried to restore her face and hands but the hand procedure failed. The doctors were forced to remove the hand saying she can try it again after a year.

Nonetheless Charla is not worried about that. Instead she is grateful for the things that she has.

Her daughter, Briana, said that, “She looks similar. I’m still waiting for the underlying bone structure to take some shape on her cheeks. But it’s my mom.”

Doctors expect Charla’s new face to conform to her base bone structure as it heals.
