carlFeb 18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Carl Landry has been traded by the Houston Rockets to the Sacramento Kings. This had been part of a seven player deal that had taken place between the two teams. The other players who had been traded to the Sacramento Kings along with Carl Landry are Joey Darcey and Tracy Mcgrady. As their part of the deal, the Sacramento Kings have sent in Kevin Martin, Hilton Armstrong, Kenny Thomas and Sergio Rodriguez. Needles to say, the deal was closed in the absolute secrecy that is characteristic of the President of the Sacramento Kings basketball team, Geoff Petry.

However, it has been commented by observers that it is quite surprising indeed that the Houston Rockets chose to give up Carl Landry. The observation is not very wrong, since it is a well known fact that Carl Landry has always been a favorite of Rick Adelman, the coach of the basketball team of the Houston Rockets. The appreciation of the coach was not a mistake either, considering that Carl Landry has always been one of the most hardworking players in the team. It can safely be argued that he had become one of the best fourth quarter producers in the team, despite the surmounting odds.

Keeping all these in mind, the trade of Carl Landry by the Houston Rockets can be explained by only one fact. The Houston Rockets had been in dire need for a better offense in their team. However, it cannot be denied that only on last Wednesday, Carl Landry had managed to score 127 points in the game against Milwaukee, the highest scored by him in this season, leading the Houston Rockets to a spectacular victory.
