runSea-Tac, Nov 23, (THAINDIAN NEWS) With the wintry weather making its presence felt, disruptions in the flight schedule is something that airline travelers are well-acquainted with. The Sea-Tac Airport in Washington was witness to a similar instance on Monday when a cargo flight slid in the icy runway while landing. Fortunately, all the four member crew who were aboard the Boeing 747-400 freighter when the incident took place did not receive any injury. However, owing to the skidding incident, incoming flights in the Sea-Tac Airport were delayed for as many as four hours on Monday causing extensive inconveniences to the travelers.

According to airport officials, the flight China Airlines 747 was bound for Sea-Tac from Taipei and it made landfall at around 4:45 on Monday afternoon. However, while landing that cargo plane was supposedly 100 ahead of the designated marker then where its was scheduled to land although it was still in the pavement. At the same time, airport officials have also revealed that the flight went on to the cargo hanger on its own power while confirming that none of the persons aboard sustained any injury. Following the incident, the runway was shut down for a while as airport authorities investigated the reason for the skidding of the cargo plane and a ground stop was stopped.

However, after some time the ground stop was lifted but some of the incoming flights got delayed in the process. Although a probe has been initiated to ascertain the reason which led the cargo plane to overshoot the runway, information about the cause of the skidding of the flight is still sketchy.
