School Bus Advertising Seattle, Mar 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Schools are going through an economic crisis mode, as they try to save their school budgets in the recession times. They have canceled field trips and are trying their level best to cut down on things so as to save their budgets. Another ploy that they have started using is that, they ask the hapless parents to pay for everything from the tissues that the students use to even the sports transportation.

Some schools have however come up with a novel idea to mint some easy money. They are going to place ads on the school buses, and try to save the school budgets through it. The advertisers are happy and they aren’t complaining at all, as the school children can be a lucrative audience for them. However this particular idea is not liked by all. “Parents who are concerned about commercial messages will have no choice. Parents won’t be given the option to send their kids on the ad-free bus.” said Josh Golin, who is an associate director of Campaign for a Commercial Free Childhood. “This issue comes up on a regular basis when funding gets tight and people are looking for alternative ways to fund school transportation,” said John Green, who is a supervisor for school transportation at the California Department of Education.
