Greg Sullivan the director for Information systems told the media that at the first instant they thought that the servers might be experiencing technical difficulties. However, now the director has confirmed that the lock down sessions witnessed by the three election servers is all due to the attack. The server administers have already bypassed one server but they failed to do the same for the remaining two.

In the wake of the election server attack, Betty McGary told the media that the safety of the tabulation process and the votes has not been breached and all are in safe hands. The IT officials have said that there are still two unknown sites which are pulling in heavy traffic. The director also assured that the voting servers are kept aloof and way apart from the affected web servers and hence the actual ballot count has not been affected. However, the proceedings are slow which shall take some time to declare the results of the election. Following the incident, Information Systems director Greg Sullivan had called for a board meeting on May 5 to discuss the issue. He also added that the Butler County Sheriff has been asked to go ahead with all legal procedures which they feel is necessary in this case.
