May 25, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Barbie has a brand new avatar. It has come to light that the famous doll that has always been a popular pick of children in countries across the world now has a changed appearance and this new appearance has become the reason for parents to worry. The new ‘Barbie Basics Collection’ which has hit the stores in the US have modeled a ‘busty’ Barbie, this new model is an African-American girl wearing a low-cut dress which allows her to flaunt her cleavage.

The brand new Barbie which can now be spotted in retail stores all over the country has become quite a rage with today’s children and quite naturally today’s mothers are very worried about its effect on their children. ‘Target’ is one of the chief sellers of the ‘busty’ Barbie. With parents getting so worried, there are talks that the government may put a ban on the sale of these dolls in the US market. However nothing has been confirmed as of now and ‘Target’ has announced that it will not stop selling the new doll. It may create more disputes.

The low cut skirt with the visible cleavage has highly angered the parents of American children. The Mothers say that they do not want their daughters to emulate the dressing patterns of the ‘busty’ Barbie. As of yet there has been no recall and the retailers do not even plan to make one in the near future. While ‘Target’ stores will continue sales, ‘Mattel’, the new Barbie’s designers did not have anything to say, in fact the media could not even speak to them.
