Jerusalem, Dec 17 (THAINDIAN NEWS) This is sure going to raise he faith of the believers onto the next level, because Christmas is just around the corner and researchers said Wednesday for the first time they have found what they believe to be pieces of a burial shroud from the time of Jesus. The find is of crucial importance because various dating tests on the shroud and the body it wrapped revealed the earliest proven case of leprosy in the Old City of Jerusalem.

This shroud was discovered in a tomb complex, which is on the extreme edge of Jerusalem’s Old City. And various tests have confirmed that it belongs to the Jesus era. This means that the Shroud of Turin has not been the burial cloth of Jesus, as many have always believed. There were excavators who were exploring the ruins beyond the city limits and they found the simply woven cloth burial shroud, now being called the Tomb Of The Shroud, in a burial cave that was unearthed in 2000, according to reports.

The location of this discovery-tomb, along with 70 other separate tombs, is in the biblical “field of blood” where it is said that Judas Iscariot hung himself, committing suicide after betraying Jesus to the religious leadership at the time. DNA and molecular testing was done on this particular shroud and it has revealed that the buried person suffered from both leprosy and tuberculosis.

This discovery is quite significant as this is the first time experts say they have found an actual shroud from the time and place of Jesus presence on this earth.

Some believers are saying that this is a Christmas miracle, no less.
