Buffalo Springfield Bridge School reunion is a big success
October 25th, 2010 - 9:09 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattCalifornia, Oct 25 (THAINDIAN NEWS) It was a sweet reunion for all the surviving members of the Buffalo Springfield at the Bridge School Benefit in California. The group members have not performed together since they last shared the stage on 1969.
Their performance was almost flawless and it left many people wondering how they did it. Some of the songs they performed at the concert had never been performed.
The members who mounted the stage on Saturday were Stephen Stills, Richie Furay and Neil Young. During the night, Young mostly played the guitar and allowed Stills and Richie to do the singing.
Life has been vast and varying for the members of the group. Richie is now a pastor with a church at Colorado. He has however maintained his voice throughout the period. During the night, Richie dazzled with the voice that saw him elected to sing the song “Nowadays Clancy Can’t Even Sing”. The song was one of Young’s compositions but Richie was elected to sing the song because Yong’s voice did not match the song then.
The group only had some few weeks’ rehearsals before the event. Critics were cynical about how the group was going to perform together after such a long time off.
