Buffalo man sentenced for operating a heroin trafficking ring

BUFFALO, NEW YORK (BNO NEWS) – A Buffalo, New York man was sentenced to 15 years in prison and 5 years of supervised release for operating a heroin distribution ring, prosecutors announced on Monday.

Pedro Antonetty, 28, was convicted of Engaging in a Continuing Criminal Enterprise on August 3, 2009. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents used court-authorized orders to intercept and monitor calls between Antonetty and his co-conspirators.

FBI’s investigation reported that since 2003 until August 2007, Antonetty operated a heroin distribution organization. Antonetty’s operation distributed between 3 and 10 kilograms of heroin in Buffalo. He used a business-like scheme, having over ten employees with varying responsibilities.

Jorge Olivera, one employer of Antonetty, has also been sentenced for his participation in the trafficking ring. Olivera’s role was to oversee the packaging and distribution of heroin.
