WASHINGTON, D.C. (BNO NEWS) — A British teenager has been banned from entering the United States for sending an offensive email to the White House and directed to President Barack Obama, local media said Tuesday.
Luke Angel, 17, of Silsoe, Bredfordshire, United Kingdom, had been drinking when he wrote the letter, but despite not remembering the “silly” writing, U.S. government officials found it serious enough to ban him from entering the country for life.
“I don’t remember exactly what I wrote as I was drunk,” Angel told The Sun. “But I think I called Barack Obama a pr—. It was silly - the sort of thing you do when you’re a teenager and have had a few,” he added, saying police arrived to his house, took his picture, and informed of being banned.
“I don’t really care. My parents aren’t very happy about it,” Angel added.
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency are allowed to deny entry based on health concerns, immigration violation, and security concerns as well.
