Brian Grant Organizes Parkinson’s Fundraising Event

Portland, Oregon, Feb 19, (THAINDIAN NEWS) A fundraiser event has been scheduled to be held at Portland in Oregon this summer. The date and the venue of the event, along with the program lineup, has been declared. It is going to be organized by the former basketball star Brian Grant, along with Michael J. Fox. The event is going to be held in order to raise sufficient funds for the Michael J. Fox Foundation, which is one of the leading foundations that deal with the raising awareness and funding of the research of the deadly Parkinson’s disease. Brian Grant himself is a victim of the Parkinson’s disease, and hence he seems to be just the right person to organize the event.
The event is going to be held at the Rose Garden at the in Portland in Oregon. The event, which will be held for two days, will include a dinner at the Rose Garden, on August 1. A golf event will also take place at the Pumpkin Ridge the next day. The organizers have lined up Pat Riley as the speaker in the event. A number of other stars have also been scheduled to make an appearance at the event, like Muhammad Ali, who has had a long association with Brian Grant. The others who have been scheduled to appear are Bill Russel, Julius Erving and Bill Wanton.
Brian Grant’s association with the Michael J. Fox Foundation dates back to 2009, when he had just been diagnosed with the deadly Parkinson’s Disease. After receiving the prognosis, he made a public declaration of his illness, thanks to the encouragement of Michael J. Fox himself, along with boxing star Muhammad Ali.
