boxDec.26, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Enthusiastic shoppers are really looking forward to the day after Christmas known to be the Boxing Day, which marks a new beginning of the shopping season, after the festivities of Christmas come to an end. The day after Christmas is a public holiday in countries such as United Kingdom, Germany, Hong Kong, Australia and a large number of other nations.

Moreover, the day witnesses people across the nations indulging in widespread shopping sprees with many retailers providing extensive discounts. Moreover, this year the occasion is all the more special as the Boxing Day falls on a Saturday, which is otherwise considered to be the most popular shopping day of the week. The last time the Boxing Day was observed on a Saturday was way back in the year 1998, which turned out to be an extremely profitable affair for the retailers.

The anticipation regarding the day this year was immensely high, as the festive shopping this year prior to Christmas was marred by the unfavorable weather conditions, which forced shoppers to stay indoors.
