Nov 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Black Friday Deals were on full spirit yesterday. Every retail store had their own ways and strategies of attracting customers at the store. However, some more noble stores, couple the Black Friday Deals with charity. The Boscov’s Department store in Pennsylvania is one of them. They are encouraging charity for the elderly people for the upcoming Christmas.
The Boscov’s are constantly urging their customers to donate toothbrush, Toothpaste, socks slippers and other daily requirements to nursing homes in the local district. They have planted a Christmas tree in the store that are decorated with ornaments that indicate which items the boarders of the hospital needs right now. The customer has to take the ornament off the tree and then purchase something for the patients or make some monetary donations. Irene Kelly, the store’s public relations area manager said that they are asking the people to share the spirit of Christmas and be an angel. Boscov’s have also set a Christmas tree in order to help the needy animals in a similar pattern. All the donations will go to the Blue Chip Farm Rescue Animal Shelter in Dallas, that is a peaceful animal farm, providing shelter to cats, dogs and other animals. Boscov’s, have witnessed more than 100 people standing in front of the departmental stores yesterday, who started queuing up from 3 a.m. and 4 a.m, in order to get the bag giveaway opening of the department store.
The store has seen an increase in the overall volume. Mall General Manager Vincent Char said that most of the Boscov’s stores were packed with people with a good shopping spirit. He also said that the business was good on the onset yesterday and was much better than last year, with a stronger crowd who gathered early and retained all through out the day. The charity program will make its business more promising this year.
