Denver, Dec 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) A small robot was detonated by the bomb squad of the Denver Police Department on Wednesday night that made onlookers curious and suspicious. Funnily enough the robot was just 8 inch tall. Matt Murray, a spokesman of Denver police said that the cops received a call from a citizen who said that the small robot was cemented to its base adjacent to a footbridge. The cops reached the place after that and stopped the car and pedestrian movement in the place for some time. Some of the residents were taken aback by the development and Justin Kent was one of them. He asked the cops if they were serious when they asked him not to come within 100 meters of the place. He was told to take a different route to his home but he was not pleased.
The blockade of the space resulted in traffic piling up on roads as it was rush hour when this was taking place. The commuters were also peeved as they had to take different routes to reach their destinations. A bomb squad robot was put into service to assess the suspicious looking robot that led to the traffic mess. When the bomb squad officers could not be sure about the robot, they decided to detonate it remotely. After the detonation, the robot was broken into several pieces.
The cops said that the fact the robot was cemented to its feet stuck them as odd. The road was re-opened post the detonation. The cops could not find out who had put the robot there and what was the intention of doing so.
