New York, Sept 19 (THAINDIAN NEWS) People searching for the body of missing nursing student Michelle Le have come across a decomposing body that they believe belongs to the 26-year-old. The searchers announced that they found the body at the Bay Area community of Sunol over the weekend.

The decomposed body was recovered by the police on Saturday. Forensic pathologists will start working on the body on Monday to determine the identity of the body. The search party was made up of family members of Michelle and search volunteers. The body was found by one of the searchers at the location which is about 50 miles southeast of San Francisco on Saturday.

Associated Press reported that officials have confirmed taking possession of the body. However because of the state that the body is in, they are not in a position to tell if it belongs to a male or female. The family has nonetheless expressed their gratitude to the searchers for their efforts.

Michelle has been missing since May. Several searches to find her have failed. The last search was the eighth that the family had put together to find Michelle. The family says if the body turns out not to be the body of Michelle, they will organize further searchers until she is found dead or alive.
