chelseaSan Diego, March 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) A body which has been found recently in a grave near a San Diego lake is recognized by the police as Chelsea King, who went missing on Thursday. The 17-year-old went missing when she left to visit a park around Lake Hodge but did not return after that. 30-year-old John Albert Gardner III, a sex convict, has been accused of indulging in forceful sex. On Sunday, John Albert Gardner III was arrested. He is charged with rape and murder. In December too there was a case of attack on a young female in the same park. It is now being investigated whether John Albert Gardner III had some connection with the earlier incident.

A diving team found the body of Chelsea King at around 1 p.m. (local time). According to Bill Gore, the San Diego County Sheriff, there is a “strong likelihood” that it is the body of Chelsea King, however, nothing could be said for sure unless further procedure was carried out. The site at which her body was found was approximately 1.5 miles away from Rancho Bernardo Community Park, where she had parked her car before entering the park.

The San Diego County Sheriff, Bill Gore reported that the family of the teenager is devastated. He further said since the family is going through a very difficult situation, people should not encroach on their privacy. The parents of the young girl, Brent King and Kelly King thanked the police for putting in so much effort on finding the body of Chelsea King. Brent King, who used to call his daughter an angel, said, “She’s my angel forever.”
