BMA to seek information on 125 million baht bribe from Japan

Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) Somsak Klanpoj (สมศักดิ์ กลั่นพจน์) affirmed that he would expedite the investigation of facts concerning a Japanese Contractor bribing government employees with 125 million baht during the Bangkok Administration of now Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej. Mr. Somsak admitted the issue is difficult as much of the needed evidence, such as receipts are hard to find since the matter occurred along time ago. He likened the situation to the CTX matter, but assured that he has requested applicable information from the Japanese government through their embassy.
The Deputy Permanent Secretary said that a BMA meeting today will consider the issue as it is potentially detrimental to their operations.
