Razan GHazzawi blogged under her real name and is seen as an influential figure in the uprising that has resulted in the death of thousands of people.
Reuters report that Razan was arrested on her way to a conference in neighboring Jordan. Friends and relatives told the news outlet that Razan was picked up at the border as she presented her passport to the Syrian leaders. Her arrest follows the arrests of several other opposition journalists and bloggers since the uprising started in the country.
