Washington, Mar 7, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Blackwater review, that is due shortly at the hands of U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates, is expected to pull up new evidences concerning the misconduct allegations in Afghanistan. The Pentagon has announced that the private firm shall stand by as the review will be in full progress. The decision was thus taken after a senior Senator called upon the Senate to consider the blocking of $1 billion contract for training Afghan Police.
The Pentagon however has declared that it has already taken the matter into consideration, as put forward by Carl Levin, who is the chief of the Senate’s Armed Services Committee. It was Carl Levin who pronounced last week that Pentagon should take into consideration all subjects regarding the Blackwater review. The Senate Armed Services Chief Carl Levin also suspects that the firm had also gone ahead dropping in some fake official statements which proves the existence of some inappropriate government weapons as well as hired officials who were equally unskilled. The Blackwater review happens to be involving one of the five companies eligible to compete for training Afghan Polices, which is indeed one of the key task for U.S. forces to achieve completion by 2011.
The curtains blew after the guards killed 14 Iraqi civilians in the 2007 shootout. The chief cause for the anti-American sentiment prevalent in Iraq was due to an American judge who issued orders of throwing out manslaughter charges raised against 5 Blackwater guards in the 2007 shootout. Much prior to this, Iraq had actually issued 250 orders for all former and current staff of the organization to vacate the country within a week.
