Sep 17 (THAINDIAN NEWS) In an astonishing incident, a woman has faked an acid attack. Police say they saw inconsistencies in the story of Bethany Storro from the beginning.

Bethany told police initially that an African American woman attacked her and poured acid on her face, resulting in severe burns on her face. Her allegations won Bethany international sympathy and strong outrage at her alleged accuser. She got an international fund set for her.

All that have changed now because Bethany has changed her words. She has confessed that she poured the acid that damaged her face herself on Wednesday. Police announced on Thursday that they have closed investigations into the case after the revelation. After the initial claims from Bethany, police searched fruitlessly for the alleged criminal who poured the acid on her face but couldn’t.

Police however maintain that they discovered the inconsistencies in Bethany’s story from the beginning. Vancouver, Washington police commander, Marla Schuman told reporters that the placement of injuries on Bethany’s face made her story doubtful. Marla said the fact that Bethany was wearing sunglasses when the incident happened also made them look at the issue again.

Marla said Bethany could be charged with filing false report and if it is realized that Bethany accessed the international fund that was set up for her by sympathizers, she will also be charged with the crime.

Bethany’s planned appearance on Oprah Winfrey’s show has been canceled after the revelation.
