Benson Offia in court for a 3 million Pounds cocaine haul

London, Nov 8 (THAINDIAN NEWS) British Officers will take a man accused of possessing one of the highest quantities of cocaine in the country to court today. The street value of the drug that was seized from the man is estimated to be worth £3 million. He is charged with possessing Class A drug with the intent to sell.

The man, 43-year-old Benson Offia was arrested when the police intercepted the drug from him. Officers revealed that the man has no permanent address. Police officers seized about nine kilos of confirmed cocaine from the suspect last Thursday. The drug was retrieved from a property in the British capital and also from a vehicle that was traveling on the M11 near Bishop’s Stortford.

Officers managed to retrieve the drug from the property after they searched it on Thursday. The Hertfordshire Constabulary’s ANPR Intercept Team also managed to retrieve some quantity of the drug from the vehicle. Officers intercepted the drugs after intelligence from other law enforcement officers in the country. It is however not clear if the accused has other accomplices who aided in concealing the drug.

He has been arraigned before the Harlow Magistrates’ Court and he is due in court today.
