Bengal Tiger gets new home

Guadalajara, Aug 13 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Guadalajara, the capital city of the western Mexican State of Jalisco has been home to the 6month old Bengal tiger cub called Albert for the past 3 months with 50 cats and dogs in the animal shelter as its companions. Albert found himself at the shelter after being moved from his home at Parque Alcaldae after it was closed down due to failure to meet the terms of its permit. The cub was brought to the animal shelter since the Environment Secretariat holding facility was full although this was supposed to be a temporary solution. Shelter officials have had to built the Tiger adequate spacing as a result of its increasing size.

The person in charge of feeding the tiger Francisco Guerrero was the only person that was courageous enough to give the cub his shots alongside de-worming him. He is also the man in charge of feeding and giving the cub its supplements. The cubs’ stay was made more comfortable after the large cage it was put in was modified and in it was placed a swing made from an old tire, a desk so the cub can sleeping in a high place and a tree trunk to use for sharpening claws, which they do by scratching or scraping the trunk.
