hollNew York City, July 2, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Extensive bedbug infestation prompted authorities of the SoHo store of Epic Hollister to close down the store this week. After the bedbug outbreak created havoc in the popular retail store, exterminators have undertaken the process of combing the store so that the infestation can be taken care of.

The store in New York City’s SoHo neighborhood which is a popular destination among young shoppers for jeans and other casual outfits, has been shut since Wednesday after the retail stores parent company Abercrombie & Fitch got to know about the rather unlikely problem. Eric Cerny, a spokesperson of the company has told news sources that it is still unclear when the biggest Hollister store all over the country would finally re-open its gates for the customers although a sign on the front door of the retail store suggests that it would be re-opening very soon. Meanwhile, a source close to Abercrombie & Fitch has stated that the bedbug infestation was detected in very early stages while also adding that proper investigation were being carried out to evaluate whether it was a selling-floor issue or a back-room problem.

Exterminators have divulged that bedbugs are becoming one of the most severe problems confronting commercial places in New York City. However, city officials have not been able to shed light on whether bedbugs have infested any retail store in the city earlier. Regular shoppers of Hollister have expressed shock about the fact that a store as big as Hollister is infested with bedbugs.
