Colorado, Oct 19 (THAINDIAN NEWS) It was a marriage made in heaven but nobody knew that it would sour so quickly. Richard Heene with wife Mayumi are reality show participants on ABC reality show “Wife Swap” twice. To boost up their flagging publicity ratings, Richard thought of this bizarre idea, with had sympathy, drama, adventure and a little boy in the center of it, all packed into one show.
It is also being said that he had an idea for a Reality TV series, which he talked with some producers and TV channels, but his idea was rejected. So in order, to drum up support and his publicity rankings he pulled off this stunt so that he becomes a famous personality and his reality TV series takes off the ground and the TV producers agree to it.
This bit is yet to be confirmed but what is already confirmed is that, charges are going to be pressed against him. Larimer County Sheriff Jim Alderden announced Sunday that he’s seeking charges, including felonies, against Richard Heene and his wife, Mayumi. Alderden said that the stunt took two weeks in the making was a marketing ploy by the Heenes, who met in acting school in Hollywood and have appeared on ABC’s reality show “Wife Swap.”
“We certainly know that there’s a conspiracy between the husband and wife, you’ve probably seen some of the e-mails and some of the things on the Internet suggesting that there may be other conspirators,” Alderden said.
“Let’s call it (my statement) short of speculation that a media outlet was in on the hoax, but let’s not discount the possibility,” he said.
The most serious charges are the criminal felonies and carry a maximum sentence of six years in prison and a $500,000 fine. Alderden said they would be seeking restitution for the costs, though he didn’t have a clear estimate.
