ballonFort Collins, Colorado, Apr 22, (THAINDIAN NEWS) It seems the trouble for the Heene couple for carrying out the balloon boy hoax in the month of October last year has not ended as yet. In the infamous balloon boy case, a judge has given the order that Richard Heene, the man who actually pulled the hoax, should give a restitution to the tune of $36,000 to the authorities.

The verdict was given by Larimer County Chief Judge Stephen Schapanski who gave his consent to the agreement reached with the Heene couple. After being found guilty in the month of November of attempting to influence a public servant, Richard Heene has reportedly completed his home detention period that lasted for around 90 days, this month. His wife, Mayumi Heene had been pleaded guilty of a misdemeanor of making a fake report and has supposedly commenced her 20 day sentence on weekends. A probation official has revealed to news sources that Mayumi Heene is not spending her sentence in a jail cell but on a weekend work detail.

The balloon boy case had grabbed the attention of the nation in October last year when Richard Heene had claimed that his six year old boy had drifted away in a helium balloon over Colorado. This resulted in large number of emergency responders as well as Colorado emergency helicopters getting into action to rescue the boy. However, the boy was not found in the balloon and was later discovered from his house in Fort Collins. After it became clear that the incident was nothing but a hoax, authorities alleged that the stunt was carried out by the Heene couple to hog the limelight.
