Balloon Boy hoax, charges likelyOctober 19th, 2009 - 5:54 pm ICT by Aishwarya Bhatt
Fort Colorado, Oct 19 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Publicity hungry Richard Heene tried a Balloon publicity stunt to get some cheap publicity, TV interviews and other cheap thrills but all this didn’t last long, when on a TV interview, on Larry King Live, Richard apparently asked his infamous son, about why he hadn’t come out from hiding when his parents were calling for him.
“You guys said we did this for the show,” the boy said.
Other chinks in the bizarre tale were when the apparently concerned father Richard Heene called the News channels, the FAA and a local TV station 9NEWS first to tell the supposedly unfortunate incident and 911 much later. This has raised a lot of questions about the publicity hungry appetite of Richard Heene.
According to reports, Richard also tried to drum up more support, sympathy and empathy for his kid when he tried to explain how the balloon worked, he said that, “We had it tethered. It wasn’t supposed to take off,” he said. “It emits a million volts on the outer skin.”
Now criminal charges are going to be pressed against the Heenes for the bad publicity stunt. It is also being said that he had an idea for a Reality TV series, which he talked with some producers and TV channels, but his idea was rejected. So in order, to drum up support and his publicity rankings he pulled off this stunt so that he becomes a famous personality and his reality TV series takes off.
