Bald eagle’s nest being watched by cam in Decorah, Iowa

Decorah, April 6 (THAINDIAN NEWS) An eagle’s nest is being watched 24 hours thanks to cameras attached to the birds’ home. The nest had three eggs but two have already hatched with the third one expected to hatch any moment soon.

The bald eagle is taking care of the hatched chicks with the help of its partner in their nest which is located about 80 feet from the ground in Decorah. Two cameras have been positioned above the nest. One of the cameras automatically switches to infrared in the evening giving viewers a 24/7 look into what is going on in the next while the other is controlled with remote control to give different views in the next.

The eagles take turns to watch the chicks and hunt. The cameras have already captured the female eagle laying eggs. The eggs were laid on the 23rd of February, 26th of February and the 2nd of March. Two of the eggs have already hatched with the third egg expected to hatch soon.

The Raptor Resource Project videos has seen several hits on YouTube with the project’s official website receiving more than 300,000 visitors from about 125 countries throughout the world.

There have been 11,000,000 views of the video on YouTube now.
