Authorities investigate suspicious package outside the White House
August 19th, 2009 - 2:57 am ICT by adminWASHINGTON, D.C. (BNO NEWS) — Authorities on Tuesday afternoon were investigating a suspicious package near the White House in Washington, D.C., officials told BNO News.
The package was found outside the south fence line of the White House at 2.42 p.m. local time, according to a spokesman for the Secret Service. A spokesman for the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department confirmed that they were called in to assist the Secret Service to investigate the package.
The bomb squad is also on scene. Further details were not immediately available.
