armytraining295Sep 1, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The US army is worried that the problem of childhood obesity could put the standard of the national security of the USA at stake. The army has said in a recent report that more than 25 percent of the young recruits, all below 25 years of age, are too obese to work in the military. The problem can soon get out of hand, think the army veterans. In the last 10 years, the US states have sent more obese candidates than before as the US army has said.

The number of overweight and basically unfit recruits has put the army top honchos in serious problem. The army has been compelled to alter its typical physical training regime because the obese recruits simply cannot follow them. The new regimen requires the candidates do less physically strenuous exercises and instead focuses on skills that improve agility as well as balance. The army veterans have lashed out at the fondness for junk food, video games addiction and reluctance to exercise for the increasing number of fat candidates. The army veterans have also said that the present generation has deviated from healthy eating habits which have resulted in the unprecedented trend of obesity.

The army generally rejects those candidates who are extremely fat and unfit but still it finds that the recruited candidates are not as fit and agile as they should be. To deal with the obese candidates the army has reduced the stress on running but has not done away with it. The army officials are hopeful that the new measures will work out.
