Terrence Lakin Fort Meade, Dec 17 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A military court has sentenced an 18-year Army veteran, Lt. Col. Terry Lakin to six months in prison for disobeying a direct order from the United States Commander-In-Chief Barack Obama.

Lakin who refused deployment to Afghanistan because he clamed that the US President was ineligible was also dismissed from the US army.

The sentence could have been more than six months. The military court could have sentenced him to the maximum of three years for the offense.

Lakin believes that the President was not born in the United States and as per the United States Constitution he is not eligible to become the President of the United States. Those sentiments are also shared by a group of people called the “birthers”. The birthers have been around for quite a long time but it is the action of Lakin lately that has given them the attention that they seek.

The White House has come out time and again that the allegations of the birthers are not true and has produced birth certificates and other documents to prove that the President was born in Hawaii. That has not been accepted by the birthers who argue that the name of the person that delivered the President should be made available to settle the case.
