Arlington CemeteryWashington, June 11, (THAINDIAN NEWS) A recent Army investigation have listed out a total of 200 graves which are said to have been misidentified at the Arlington National Cemetery. This is a serious blow to the reputation of the nation’s pre-eminent cemetery which has been held in high honor since the Civil War.

Reportedly, John McHugh who happens to be the Army Secretary had issued orders for two civilian leaders namely John Metzler and Thurman Higginbotham to be relieved off from their duties as further investigation takes place.

At the Pentagon News Conference John McHugh said that he apologizes for the misidentified bodies at the Arlington grave which in his opinion has brought bad name to the Army as well as to the Arlington National Cemetery. As a matter of fact, this is the only burial ground which had witnessed several military burials from the Civil War to those who were killed way back in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Arlington National Cemetery has also served to be the burial ground for the famous American president John Kennedy and his family. Since then, the Arlington National Cemetery has been the center of attraction for over 4 million annual visitors.

Army Secretary John McHugh along with two other highly decorated officials of the Army shall discussed the case and the investigation reports. The officers have been advised to maintain anonymity owing to the ongoing investigation.

The cemetery managers shall face severe punishment and shall be relieved off their duties. Patrick Hallinan of the Veterans Affairs Department shall take over as the cemetery superintendent.

John McHugh said that there will be a special advisory commission which shall be presided over by Army Veterans Bob Dole and Max Cleland.
