London, Oct 18 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Inhabitants of Britain had better stock up on their woolens, because according to the latest reports, they are all set to face a chilly blast originating from the Arctic. They already braved a very chilly weekend and now there seems to be no respite from the cold as the chilly blast from the Arctic is on the way.

England and Wales already witnessed frost over the weekend, whereas the temperature managed to drop below freezing in the night too. Oxfordshire was one of the worst hit places, as the nighttime temperature there was around -3 degrees Celsius.

However the weather agencies are warning the people that they should be prepared to face even worst weather as from Tuesday the Arctic winds are all set to shower snow in the higher regions in the North. “The main feature this week, particularly on Tuesday and Wednesday, will be that we are going to see air coming southwards all the way from the Arctic. We will all feel the chill for a couple of days, with daytime temperatures in the south around 10C (50F) and a couple of degrees colder in the north,” according to Met Office forecaster Robin Downton.

He also added that this upcoming winter all sets to break the record of the previous year, as the winter of 2009 was the coldest in over 3 decades.
