Saqqara, July 8 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The archaeologists have managed to find 4300-year-old tombs in Egypt. It is a major find in the region of Saqqara near Cairo, and it could now also lead to the discovery of even a cemetery in that region.

The unearthed tombs are reported to have two false doors, which are decorated with colorful paintings showcasing the people who are buried there. It is said to be a tomb of a father-son duo.

“The colors of the false door are fresh as if it was painted yesterday,” according to Abdel-Hakim Karar, who is one of the top archaeologists at Saqqara. However the sarcophagus of the father has been destroyed by the humidity, that is prevalent in that area, whereas the tomb of his son had been robbed.

The Egypt’s antiquities chief - Zahi Hawass is obviously overjoyed at the discovery and he said that, these tombs were “the most distinguished tombs ever found from the Old Kingdom,” and this was because of their “amazing colors.” He also added that if the region near the tombs is excavated then there is a great possibility that a huge cemetery would be found. However there is no clarity whether the area would be excavated or not.
