London, Sept 13 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Anti slavery raid in the United Kingdom have resulted in the freedom of 24 men. Some of the rescued men had spent about 15 years at the site where they were rescued. Security forces found the men at a trailer site where they were forced to work for 12 hours daily without pay.

Officials have arrested four men and a woman for enslaving the men. The raid was carried out by more than 200 police officers in Leighton Buzzard which is located in Northern London. Police say a tip off from an escaped slave prompted the raid which was carried out on Sunday morning.

When the police got to the site, they found the enslaved men living in deplorable state with most of them on the verge of starvation.

Detective Chief Inspector Sean O’Neil briefed the press on the operation. He said that, “We found 24 people being held against their will on the site, being kept in appalling conditions, covered in excrement [wearing] poor clothing [and in] poor general conditions…Prior to that, we’re aware of up to 28 people who have escaped the site.”

The raid was carried out from officers from Bedfordshire and they announced that they are hunting for two other suspects.
