Riyadh, Sep 8 (THAINDIAN NEWS) There has been a public uproar in Saudi Arabia over the content of a male potency drug advert.

The advertisement, which is used to promote Snafi, which is a Viagra-like drug, is 20 seconds long and it shows a man dressed in a traditional Middle Eastern attire who returns home to his family from work. In the advert the man ask his wife “How are the kids?” to which the wife responds that the children have completed their chores and he instead ought to worry about his chores, apparently reminding the man to perform in bed.

After that interaction between the man and the wife, they slip away from the screen and the Snafi’s slogan comes on the screen followed by a promise that men can achieve up to 36 hours stiffness.

But the television station that airs the advert, Channel One, insists that there is nothing wrong with the content of the advert. Channel One is a government owned television in Saudi Arabia.

Local citizens in Saudi Arabia however say that the advert contains inappropriate sexual content, which is not good for the Saudi public. This has led to several complaints from viewers who say that they never expected the State run television station to air such a commercial. It ought to be mentioned that Saudi Arabia is a Muslim country with high moral standards.
